The long-term goals and outcomes of NbS pose challenges for conventional investors. Moreover, investors, donors, and research institutes have encountered various barriers to financing NbS.

Opportunities

Stakeholders see promising opportunities to fund NbS. They suggest promoting NbS benefits clearly and consistently (advocacy), emphasizing general green solutions and not focusing on the term “Nature-Based Solutions”.
